Let's Read the Bible in 2022!

Nothing has impacted my faith and relationship with Jesus more than the Bible Recap. In 2021, I read the entire Bible for the first time ever! And now I want to read through it again…WITH YOU in 2022! Here are the top 3 reasons you should join me:

  1. Day by day, your knowledge of who Jesus is and what is important to Him will come alive. I have had so many “a-ha” moments and finally grasp the true beauty of it all and see how the old and new testaments are infinitely connected.

  2. You will find more peace in reading the words of scripture than anywhere else. And that is truly needed right now!

  3. Reading and studying in community is so rewarding and helps with greater understanding.

If you have ever tried to read the Bible and it felt boring or daunting…I promise this is different! We use the Bible Recap program and there is a short podcast commentary daily to help you apply it to your daily life.

I can guarantee you that your life will change if you do this.
Your mind, your heart, and your future.
All of it.

But don’t just take my word for it! Check out the testimonials of those who read the new testament with me:

“Thank you for hosting this Bible study. I’ve really enjoyed it and have been raving to others how awesome it has been. It’s been a game changer in bringing the scriptures to life!” - Naomi

“I’ve had a lot of losses this year and unexpected changes and transitions. This has reminded me what the constant is in my life. Having this community has been such a blessing!” - Carolyn

“This is really what I needed! I had read the Bible, but never REALLY READ the Bible. I was so excited and looked forward to reading it every day. Every time I got off a Zoom call, I felt…joyous! - Pam

“This has been such a blessing. Not every day was perfect but every day was honored and God is so faithful to show his grace and love throughout the dedication of consuming His Word.” - Crystal

“My marriage wasn’t the most solid…we’ve had a lot of issues. This study prompted me to surrender all of it to God and God answered my prayers so quickly! I haven’t felt heard by God in so long, and this was really powerful. I am so excited to start again in January!” - Karen

“This has been transformational!! - Allison

“I can’t tell you how much I’m loving the Bible Recap study. I was raised Catholic and walked away at 18. My husband and I gave our lives to Christ in 2009 and I’ve always loved Jesus but didn’t know the Bible until we joined a church. I’ve done many Bible studies, but this is the one that is really making a difference in my life! I’m seeing everything differently and with new eyes!” - Colleen

The Bible is LIVING & ACTIVE and you cannot encounter it on a daily basis and leave the same. If you think you know who Jesus is…but you’ve never read the Bible chapter by chapter, verse by verse…it’s time! This group is for everyone…whether you have always read the Bible, or have NEVER read the Bible…there is a place for you!

Sun Room Progress (Before & After)

It’s AMAZING what a couple of coats of white paint can do! I’m in love with our new (and almost finished) sun room. We are constantly in this room now…whether it’s for the sunrise or to snuggle by the fire and the twinkly tree, it’s the heart of our home at this point in the remodel. Technically, this isn’t our “main” living room”, as there is another room on the opposite side of the first floor that we were going to make into that. But I’m re-thinking that now that this room is complete! (Oh, and the tree looks sad and naked without it’s gifts! We had just opened all the presents with Ama and Grandmpa and replenished it after this photo! LOL!)

Matt’s giant chair won’t be staying there forever...LOL! But it’s there for now. I’d like a more open space to the kitchen/dining. If you have a super comfy, but smaller lounge chair that will fit a 6 foot 5 inch man…please comment. Ha!! Does such a thing exist?!

We painted the plywood subfloor white for now…we will do the entire first floor in wide-plank hardwood sometime this coming year. But I don’t mind it like this either!

The white paint color for our whole house is Sherwin Williams Alabaster. We used flat for the ceiling, satin for the walls, and semi-gloss for the floor and trims.

This is the original shiplap from the exterior of the 1895 farmhouse. How cool it that?! We decided to keep it exactly as it was to honor the history of this amazing house! You can see into the kitchen and dining area here…that’s our next project!

We do need to add the light fixtures in this room…I’m thinking about doing a funky pendant like the one we had in Texas or this pretty one.

I love so many things about this room…but one of them is that the windows look directly out to our barn and gardens. I love being able to see all the action! See those binoculars on the window sill? I just used them to watch a bald eagle fly around our property and land in our trees. The nature out here is awesome!

This is my happy morning corner. My old beat up leather chair has holes in the arms and the legs are all beat up…and I like it that way! I may repair them sometime soon…but for now, it’s just right.

Below you can see what the sun room looked like when we moved in! Lots of tile, carpet, wallpaper, cabinets, and popcorn ceiling. This home was so well-cared for by it’s previous owners (they lived here for 60 years!). I’m thankful for the time and love they put into making it their own. And now we get to do the same!

It’s crazy to look back and see how different it was…because it happened little by little. I can’t even remember what it felt like without our new picture window and wood burning stove installed ! I love how it turned out and can’t wait to continue moving forward with the rest of the remodel. Check out our gallery wall process in this separate post!

The Little Things | December 2021 (Week 3)

“The Little Things” is my blog version of IG stories...these seemingly ordinary daily moments make up our beautiful life! *Click the images to enlarge & scroll*

“I hope you find, as I did, that happiness comes from noticing
and enjoying the little things in life.”
- Barbara Ann Kipfer

The Long-Awaited Cookies: It’s cookie time! We had to wait for our natural food dye to arrive…which delayed the process a bit! LOL! But we finally made them. Gluten-free…and they fell apart a little bit. So although the rooster might not have a leg, they still tasted yummy! What is your favorite treat to make for the holidays?!

Not a Housecat: We try to have the willpower to resist Prince’s sweet face at the door, but we are defenseless against him. So on most days, our “not a housecat” is a couch cat. But not to worry, he still pulls his weight in mouse catching.

Little Elves: It’s a game changer when your children are old enough to help you wrap gifts! While I used to stay up until all hours on Christmas Eve, now we all chip in and help. Also fun to actually have gifts UNDER the tree because there are no toddlers to destroy them. ;-)

Christmas Giving: Ama and Grandpa were here all week…and we did our Christmas with them. Lots of hugs and tears and fun.

Snowman Friend: We had a mini-blizzard this week with 2 inches of snow and 50-60 mph winds…and Emma was able to roll together a friendly snowman.

Garden Chill: Everything is done in the garden now…except for a few pieces of kale and collards that we snacked on while we were out for a walk. It’s so strange to not be tending the garden daily…but I’m deeply grateful for this season of rest.

Memorial: We have had a few chicken deaths in our flock lately (some were ill and some were naughty)…and this was a little memorial service we had for them, thanking God for allowing us to care for them. It’s always sad to say goodbye. Margarita, Soloman, Barbara, Floppy, and Moses…you were well-loved.

Letter writing: Lucy wrote letters to everyone for Christmas and they were the SWEETEST.

Reading by the fire: This is definitely the room of choice right now…and Ama found my favorite “Grandma Chair” to sit and read in. I found this chair at a thrift store…and I promptly sat down in it and wouldn’t move until I could find Matt to tote it away! It’s comfy and perfect.

Home Sweet Home: Everything feels SWEET right now…prepping for the holidays, enjoying each other’s company, sitting by the fire. Lots of snuggling happening.

Special Deliveries: We spent one day this week prepping gifts and getting ready to mail them out to friends and family. We did all the postage at home with Pirate Ship and our little post office in our little town had no line at all for drop off. Benefits of small town life!

Fort Building: The girls found a special little spot in the woods where they created a “winter home”. They gave me a tour and it was pretty magical. Complete with hardwood floors and a kitchen.

Milkweed Fluff: It’s been so neat to see the changes of the milkweed this season. We have copious amounts of it…and we get TONS of monarchs!

Silly faces: Family photo the night before Ama and Grandpa headed home…I’m so thankful for these moments. This is why we moved back to the Midwest from Texas…to be closer to family. It’s truly a gift.

Daddy & Daughter: Matt and Bella went on a daddy-daughter date to see the new Spiderman movie…as is their tradition when a new one comes out.

Hot Chocolate Face: We stopped by our favorite antique store and had hot chocolate and pastries! I found some red goblets for Christmas dinner and a metal basket for storage. We don’t have a Target nearby, so the antique store is where I shop! :)
